The CLA Show is this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16-17.  I'm looking forward to the show, of course, but a highlight for me is always the get together of ALR members.

As in previous years, let's meet in the Food Court, on the ground floor of the convention center, at the base of the escalators.  1:00pm on Friday, Aug. 16.   Bring stuff to look at!

Is there any interest in an ALR group dinner on Friday evening?

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Golly, I would be there if I'd planned it. I'm not going this year, but have high hopes for 2014.

Please report on the ALR get-together if it happens. Post pix!

I will try my best to come visit on Friday.  In past years, I have gotten wound up and didn't leave my table until your meeting was over.  I think it is an old age thing I am going through now.  Have a safe trip.

I promised Don Getz a few photos of Dave Wagner from the Seminar years ago.  I also have some good photos of Gary Brumfield from those same years, 86-88, I think.  I want to do an article on Gary on my web site and use some of these pictures.  Gary was a mentor, teacher, and friend.  He was the motivation behind the lock timing article in JHAT.

Dave was a friend I met at the Seminar. He lived close to Don and suffered from various health issues.  I visited him at CW and bummed around Friendship with him.  He was a talented rifle maker - a shame to lose him at such a young age.

Anyway, I thought you guys might like to see the pics.  They belong to Don when we're done.

I would like to go, but have to work saturday morning.  And last time I was there, everyone was packing up to leave by noon on Saturday, if I recall correctly...  The Friday/Saturday scheduling is kinda sucky.   :P  So, no show for me this year.

Tim,
At least you are not stuck in a 6 hour teleconference in a security vault with minimal air circulation.   :-X :-X :-X

Tim,
The prayer must have worked.  Halfway through the meeting we were running an hour behind.  We ended up finishing an hour early.  It is now beer o'clock in Washington State.

We had a pretty good turn out of ALR members from all around the US.  Don Getz brought one of his earlier rifles and it actually had a butt plate!  It was a beauty, definitely not a barn gun.  Pletch brought pictures showing the patch peeling off the ball milliseconds after being fired.  I believe a good time was had by all.
