If you want to take a gander at a truly stunning piece of work, skip over to the Contemporary Makers blog and look at Ed's rifle.

Ed, you are getting scary good at this gun-making business!  That rifle is a honey and a half!

Ed, I was gawking at this earlier today, as I always check out the Blog. It's really a super nice gun, and a little unusual with the fowler-esque rounded buttstock. Your carving is superbe.

Would you ever consider teaching carving demos, maybe at Dixon's or some event like that?

Thanks, all!

The round toe is fairly unusual, but not unique.  I've seen one other gun that came out of the Valley with the same architecture.

Ed, my comment about the round toe was certainly not a challenge, rather an applaud. Very, very nice effort.

Ed, this is the rifle you had out at Mt. Vernon?  Really nice job.

Tom, I didn't take your comment as a challenge at all, sorry if it came across that way.

Chris, it is the same rifle...

Ed, no challenges. I was just confirming that I like your rifle very much, and the round bottom edge is very appealing AND unusual.
