Has anyone built a gun with a faux tiger stripe finish? I am building a H E Leman trade rifle and can't figure out were to start on the faux finish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A Southern style .40 caliber rifle that had a plain grain maple stock that didn't suit me. So I made it suit me.

That's a mighty pretty rifle LB. I bet you hate it that you got the lock on the wrong side.

I like how your artificial striping turned out, Lehigh Brad. What type of finish is over it?

I want to thank you all for the advice I will try it and hopefully I don't create a train wreck. Also LehighBrad, what type of stain did you use and what size brush?

Feibings medium brown leather dye for the stripes using various sizes of model brushes.....then when completely dry, rub over the whole thing with Laural Mountain Forge Nut Brown stain. When that's all dry, then hand rubbed in 5 coats of Chambers Finishing Oil. Viola!!

Thanks LehighBrad, we are buying a farm so this project gets shoved to the back burner again! But I promise I will let you-all know how it turns out with pictures.
