Started on my BBL proper day before yesterday...then a rain storm, I left the dehumidifier off.

Looking great so far.

carding time again.

Wade; When you get the brown you want rub the barrel down with a baking soda solution (H2o and soda), dry it and then hang it somewhere and heat it "until uncomfortable to touch" - then apply motor oil to the barrel, let it sit a bit and then wipe down. done.

Right.  once i get it evened out, i'm going to rub it back somewhat, then consider cold blue on top..re-rubbed.  (simple is not my SOP  ::))  OR i considered boiling it, then rubbing it back.  shades of gray is where i'm going.

Thanks Dave, hey also- i just found a nugget on here about cutting the LMF brand browning solution back 1:1 with distilled water.    I use fresh rain water or water from my dehumidifier (local distillation yo).

If using full-strength (again LMF branded, not HD's, they were out of Dangler's) I noticed that just rubbing it back w/o washing it all off and without adding any more solution will kick the rusting off again.
