Nam Vets Rifle
«

Earlier last year I was approached by members of Allegheny Mountain chapter of the Nam Knights motorcycle club. The club is primarily made up of ex-military or Law Enforcement officers. They expressed their desire to hold a fund raiser to benefit wounded service personnel, in a Wounded Warrior type approach. All the funds raised would be channeled directly to the Leek Farm hunting preserve (
www.leekpreserve.org
) to be used for the benefit of wounded service personnel. The above Western Pennsylvania rifle school rifle was built for them at the cost of materials. Having served both in the Army and in law enforcement, I was fully in sync with their efforts. The rifle will be awarded as first prize along with three other prizes including 2 modern rifles and a $500. prize. This will be done by a drawing on 28 Jun 2014. Tickets @ $10.00 ea. are available from bharman1971@yahoo.com or mike.gibbs@safeworks.com
The rifle is in the Western PA rifle style as built by Allison, Fleeger, McCosh, and others. It has a 42” B weight 50 Cal. Colerain barrel, a Jim Chambers Late Ketland lock, Davis # 4 D.S. triggers. It weighs 7-1/2 lbs. and is a very nice handling little rifle. I hope that many of you will be able to help the Nam Knights in their effort to bring joy into the lives of those who have suffered so much loss for all of us.

Beautiful work Ron. If you will email me some photos and the information (and if you think it would be OK) I'd like to post it on my Facebook page so my LEO and veteran friends can help spread the word and have a chance to contribute.

Baring any major snow storms I intend to make it down probably on Saturday....You know what they say about having to get the smell of black powder in your nose every now and then.
Cliff, I will get some information off to you within a day or two.
Thanks for the nice comments on the gun and the project, they are always appreciated. This is just a small way that we can all give back to something back to some of those who gave so much for us, and I am happy to have a small part in it.
