Carving on Reading Rifles
« on: February 20, 2014, 06:23:41 PM »
I am looking at Reading rifles for an upcoming project.  Does anyone know the origins of the carving patterns seen on them. They seem to break a lot of the "rules" of carving.  The volutes make sharper turns and come to points in cases.  Why was the carving of this school so different?
