Scottish Knife--Sgian Dubh

This is a Scottish knife called a sgian dubh and is typically worn in one's sock just below the hem of the kilt. the blade is damascus steel. The bolster is red deer (European elk). The handle is black horn with leather Spanish knots. T...he pommel is sterling with a green jasper stone from Scotland. The trefoil design is also sterling with steel pins. The sheath is dyed black leather with an attached flat-horn shield. My family Scottish crest has a boar, so that is what I engraved. Around the boar is a stipple design.See More

Beautiful work. Love the boar on the shield! My mother's family shield also has a boar!

Very nice Victorian Era Sgian Dubh. Love the Boar as it is part of my Clan's Crest as well.

The triskellis on the handle is wonderful...reminiscent of the standard of the Isle of Man.
