horn cap box or patch box

Well its been since I think July since I have made anything and got my new lathe set up this evening and decided to try it out and this is what I did little horn container chimed bottom guess it like riding a bike never forget the moon is just drawn on right now will engrave it later tonight .

I'm really impressed with the use of your horn working skills here Ed. I'm assuming the top and body both have their ends chimed into them and I like the very straight sides. I usually just take the easy way out. Nice work.

Steve the top is dovetailed in made a tool to do that and the bottom is chimed...

Kermit chimed is just a simple groove that is 60 degrees into the base then you make a bottom to match that diameter and heat then press in gives a airtight seal so no glue is needed the dovetail on the lid lets you round the edges to give it a nice transition to the lid
