I've been contemplating a heritage, or tribute, horn myself. My last name is Wren, so my thought is a white horn with a picture of a wren scrimmed into one side, and the names of all of the Wren men I can find as far back as I can. I would need to leave space for future discoveries of Wrens, as well as any descendants. The names would probably spiral around the end of the horn, kind of making a chain of my family members.
One of my forebearers commanded the "First Defenders" of Washington D.C. during the first days of the civil War.
