I did a SMR capper last year, intending to take it moms and give it to her. She had the winter storm of 2008 knockdown a nice black walnut tree. The 1st log was big enough to get a few blanks outta of~ one of which I made into this rifle. Now the rifle has a used Hatfeild barrel, converted over with a lollipop tang new sites ect. all steel mtgs, 36cal.
The metal I antiqued, and she loved it...made me hang it over the front door "as all southern women have a rifle over their front door"~
anyways, she's 79, and still will shoot....says this rifle 'fit' her to a T~
