I was thinking about how I might contribute to this forum, and I don't think I can teach you all any useful techniques, but I thought you might be interested in a couple of useful tools.
I'm sure that some or many of you know Richard Miller. I don't know him, except to bug him with silly questions on the back porch of gunmaker's hall at friendship. However, last fall I bought a set of the small scrapers with handles he makes, and they have become my go to for finishing inlay inletting, or any place I need to scrape in confined spaces. Perhaps someone who knows him can post how to get in touch with him if you are interested
The other recommendation is for a set of (very) small knives that are perfect for stabbing in wire inlays or carvings:
I get them from a company called Micro-Mark (
www.micromark.com) and the starter set (which is shown in the picture) is part # 81067 and costs $11.85. Extra blades are about a dollar apiece.
