Peter Neihart question
« on: June 24, 2014, 03:25:20 AM »
Gentleman
I had the pleasure of going to the National Firearms Museum last weekend and saw a rifle there attributed to Peter Neihart.  This same rifle is shown in Thoughts On The Kentucky Rifle In Its Golden Age 2ed edition plate 11 on page 68 marked maker unknown.  Does anyone know if there are additional pictures of this rifle anywhere?
I enjoyed the display, it appeared to be the same display cases that were used at Landis Valley Museum last year.  These are wonderful for viewing.  If you can get there it is well worth the effort.  Thank You KRF for your hard work in getting these firearms out for public viewing.

Bill, The KRF Lehigh CD has detailed pics of this rifle. The CD is certainly worth purchasing. I also saw a picture from the CLA show last year, I believe,  that had that rifle attributed to Peter Neihardt. I also would be interested  in more info on this rifle.

Thank you for your comments about the display Bill, the cases belong to the KRF, and are differant from the ones used at the Landis Valley display last year.  These cases were specially designed for the Foundation and the lighting was recently tweaked for the current display. The rifle do display well in them.
