What style of bag

I recently bought a copy of "Kentucky Rifle Hunting Pouches" by Madison Grant and that got me thinking.  I have an original 1816 Harpers Ferry (sportoerised a long, long time ago, all the wood is the same color so possibly an arsenal job) and converted to percussion.  Lock plate marked Harpers Ferry 1838.

My question is as this would most likely be a hunting gun what style of bag would go with it best.  I realize the difficulty of answering this but I value your opinions.  What would you use?

I think a bag should match the person who's using it. If the user is a farmer he likely would be making a bag out of some type of woven material or maybe an old pair of boots. A frontiers man may have a pouch made in the indian style of buckskin or some furbearer.
I think if you match the situation that you're representing you can't go wrong. If you can make it yourself you are likely OK.

If you are playing a frontiersman and you have a fancy fine leather European pouch you may be out of character. I can't visualize a frontiersman spending a large sum for a professional made pouch when he can produce something useful himself.

Whitebear, look in your book at the Virginia style bags,if you have a Harpers ferry a Virginia style would fit the Rifle.
