New Bearded Hunting Pouch
«
on:
May 30, 2014, 04:10:50 PM »
I saw a couple bearded pouches that ALR member T.C. Albert has made (here is one example:
http://contemporarymakers.blogspot.com/2013/01/hunting-pouch-set-by-tc-albert.html
)
and decided to try building one myself.
Here are some photos:
The fringe is first cut, then wet and twisted to create the look.

Nice looking pouch. Making one of those is on my bucket list. I am assuming by looking at the photo of the back side of the flap that the fringe is cut into strips and sewed onto the flap in rows. Great job! I like the finish on the leather and the knife sheath is a fine addition that accompanies the pouch well.

Larry..... You did a wonderful job on this one. You even fringed the knife case which is a very nice touch.
I like it.
Kind Regards Frank Barker

Thanks, guys. It was a fun project.
Cutting and attaching the fringe added a little extra time compared to a simple bag, but once you get into the groove, you get quicker at cutting.
I'm glad you like the bag.

Strong work. I love the glowing, burnished look your leather has. And that fringe will help the rain run off better!

OK Larry,
You may be getting a call from my wife. I told her it's your fault that I had to buy that bearded bag from Tim Albert.
Especially when I told her I had to build a nice Southern squirrel rifle to go with it!!!
