short problem (drilling pin holes thru stock)

 Does any one know a good sorse for long drill bit for pinning the stock . I am working on a early English gun with a very large breech and barrel Blunderbuss. I am having a fit getting from one side to the other   ken

I got a drill jig with long bits from David Rase. Works great. So far my stock pin holes have been dead on. Also drilled lock bolts and tang bolts with precision.

Long drill bits are sometimes known as "aircraft drills".  I have found them at Manhattan Supply Corp also known as MSC.  They have a web site,  Their book catalog has over 2000 pages --- they have almost everything.

The Ace Hardware I go to has many sizes of long bits on hand and will order in whatever other sizes I might need.
