Erlewine ShopStand as an Engraving Stand
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:59:46 PM »
Has anyone used one of the Erlewine shop stands sold by Stewart-MacDond as an engraving stand for long rifles?  If so, any comments or suggestions about your experience would be appreciated.  I need a better engraving set up in my shop, this stand looks like it would fill the bill and would save me the time of designing and constructing my own.
If you cannot see the irony in having a gun ban enforced by men with guns, then you fail to understand why the 2nd Amendment was written in the first place....

I engrave everything out of the rifle, so I use a  ball vice that a friend loaded me for everything but the barrel.

I guess if you were doing the parts while they are mounted in the gun you might need something like that.

Looks good to me.  Especially for hammer and chisel work.
