Need a dimension on a vise...please!!

I ordered this vise from woodcraft and it is on back order.

  I know a few of you have these vises. Can you tell me the dimension from your bench, to the top of the vise jaws? And how tall are the vise jaws?

I am working on the supports to hold the rifle on either side of the vise and these dimensions will help greatly!

Hi Brian,
The tops of the jaws are 10" above the bench and the jaws are 2 5/8" tall.  Of course, you can cut and make any jaw dimensions you want from a good hardwood.

I have one and use it almost constantly. I sometimes wish I had two.

When it gets to you, take the wood jaws off and trace several sets onto scrap hardwood (I used cherry and maple), cut and sand. I used my bandsaw and a disk sander. Then glue some heavy hard leather such as skirting onto one face. I made about 10-12 sets when I got mine and still have more than half of them. It's nice to have fresh ones then needed.

I use water buffalo hide just for that purpose.
That stuff is almost bullet proof and a small piece lasts forever!

Thanks guys! I had planned to do just that.  I have some 10-12oz. Leather set aside for this vise.
