Silver Solder, ie: high temp silver soldering & many in the States call it silver brazing.

I am sure its possible but I would not try this unless you are used to silver brazing. The first time I tried this the front extension of the guard drooped like a melting candle held sideways!

Most drill a hole for the new lug, round the end to fit then peen it in place. There are several posts on how to do this but I don't have time to find them right now. Use the search feature.

Use Brownells Silvaloy 355, and their flux. Almost as easy as soft soldering.
