Bresien barrel material?

Does anyone know what material the old Bresien barrels were made from ?  I have a 35 in long , 1 in oct. in .54 cal that should make up into a nice 1/2 stock rifle which I'm planning on starting this summer.

Sorry …….It appears my memory has taken a walk !! ???   I asked the same question before re another Bresien barrel I had   ::)   It seems that he used 12L14 per the answers before .  I'll write it in my book  :-[
