L&R single set trigger
« on: May 17, 2015, 01:42:57 AM »
Ok, the trigger on these are HUGE.  My question is ... Can these be bent?  Some kind of black oxide finish, and very hard.  Heat then bend?
What say ye?

You should be able to heat and bend the trigger itself, but don't let the heat creep up and ruin the temper on the bar/engagement surfaces.

Clamp the working part in aluminum (or other soft metal) vice jaws to absorb the heat so you won't ruin the temper.  I bent the rear trigger of a Davis double set today, and often have to tighten the curl on the front trigger.  So far, no damage to the temper.

The L&R triggers I am using are very hard to bend.........
