I almost forgot my favorite part:  I got a brief engraving lesson, and had my screws and side plate engraved.

The "HAPPY HE THAT ESCAPES ME" was inspired by the same engraving on the muzzle of a blunderbuss in the Baxter blunderbuss book.  A similar inscription, "HAPPY IS HE THAT ESCAPES ME" is seen on a blunderbuss in the 2001 Christies catalog of the Keith Neal collection auction.  Seems fitting for a 4 bore.

I thought I recognized Dave's barrel work....those rings add a nice touch. You should be proud of the work on this one....nice looking "pirate gun"!
