I think drawings are the Art of the builder. I am sure those that you have are one of a kind. Many of us collect others work for one reason or another. I have a set of drawings done for a rifle that Wallace Gusler did in 1961, the detail is unreal. all done in pencil and signed. the drawings are of an unfinished rifle , everything on it such as patch box- toe plate- trigger guard- are carved from Moose Antler- the patch box has 32 piercings and is chiseled in high relief. The cheek piece inlay is from Black Buffalo horn wrapped in 18 kt gold. The lid on the patch box is thick silver chisled in high relief. The cheek piece side is carved more than any long rifle I have ever seen. The wood is equal to the rifle Monte M. did in Contemporary makers in 79- German Long rifle. The neat thing is - it is the only Williamsburg rifle to ever be on a hard back book, in color. The lock is a chisled Gusler Masterpiece like no other- oh by the way he was 19 years old when he made it- I collect things others miss- I also have the best Kindig book out there- Got it in 1981 from friend Jack Brooks- signed dated with many of Jacks drawings- in it and it is covered in Brown Elk Skin as the original cover wore out from Jack using it as his shop copy.
