I used Hawken parts from TOW on mine. the buttplate, nosecap, trigger guard, trigger. I got a new underrib and rivited it on the barrel. I then removed the nosecap, and cast one in wheel weight lead. The trigger took some filing to make it reliable. I then redovetailed the front and rear sight and used TOW parts there.
It looks good, and shoots well.
I then took the stock down to bare, and Tru-Oiled it with many coats. It came out pretty sharp.
I then browned the assembly. That really change the appearance of it. I got browning from DGW and applied lots of coats. The browning became self healing while I did it and the final finish really came out well.
A good rifle from then on.
From there I did a side plate, some inlays, and it perked up.
The Hawken shop also has cast parts. I have used them and they are good also. They are designed for import Hawkens. Fit well and brown well.
