Hi All!
Okei, the stock shape is about finish and the patina on the forestock is a bonus hehe ;)

Looking good Runar! How DID you achieve that patina on the forestock?  :o That must have taken days and days...

Always enjoy watching your builds.
Some constructive critique, if I may.  I'd remove about half of the wood beneath your ramrod, all the way to the lock.

Hi Runar,
Wonderful project. However, regardless of whatever Bookie's plans show, I agree 110% with Taylor's critique. The gun looks pretty nice now but it will look much more elegant if you do as Taylor suggests.  In addition, I urge you to remove more wood from along the ramrod channel as well.  That will make the gun look much slimmer.

I like your rifle their Runar and you have convinced me to put one on my "list to build". I also have Bookie's Book and will start to gather parts. I will make the butt plate & triggerguard as you have shown along with the other metal parts. Thanks for the inspiration and pictures. As I am not a "book-of-knowledge" on this style of rifle I can not comment on it's architecture - but Bookie know what he is doing ;). Looking forward to more progress on your build 8).

Yes, that looks better.  Now expose a little more of the barrel by taking wood off the top of the forearm to a little more than half of the side flat.  Be sure to shape the forearm into a nice egg shape, rather than leave it slab sided.

I like it Runar, but the only thing I question would be how far down from the comb the bottom of the cheek piece is. Is that where your plan wants it to be? I have no idea where it should be as I have no experience with that style of gun so there fore I ask. Nonthe less I loved watching your build and like the end product.

Looking forward to seeing your rifle with finish on it.  I am most interested is seeing how you handle the repaired areas on your stock.  I have one in process that has a repaired area also.  I am struggling with how to blend the repair into the rest of the rifle.  (I guess that's not really news, since I have struggled with most aspects of this build.)  Great looking rifle by the way!

Runastav:  your forearm looks good:  more than half of the barrel and rod exposed, and slimmed down in the lower area.  Very nice work, and like every one else, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished rifle.

Hi Folks, and thank you!
Clark B, the big @!*%?& knot was like a musketthole. So before shaping the forestock I splice in new wood in a 2 times. First #1 and after dried 24 hour then #2 and innside a frame of brass shim is epoxy in place. Think it is much stronger in the repered seksjon ;)
