This gun looks a lot more like it was built around 1830, or later. I don't think this gun was even built as a flinter, it looks original percussion to me.

I agree with Hungry Horse that it was never a flint. I would guess the date later than 1830 closer to 1840.

I am sure its a S Miller, I had a signed one and all but the patchbox looks much like mine.

It would have been nice to have seen the photos. I know that they weren't here yesterday. What is the problem? Im sure that I am not alone in wanting to see pictures. Why cant you leave photos up for at least a whole day or two?

I left this open to see if anyone else had the suspicions I had .  All confirmed.  Never a flint gun.  Built in 1830s.  Still a very nice rifle.  Should be described as maker unknown.

The thing that chafes me is it says "no reserve", but the opening bid must be at least $3200.00   Sounds like a reserve to me.

Those high opening bids keep a lot of people from bidding at all.  Me included.  I would rather see a reserve and opening bid of $.01.

Yeah, sort of takes away the fantasy thought of getting it for 50 bucks.

But if it were my gun, I'd make sure it didn't sell for some low ball amount either. The opening bid is $3200. The Buy it Now price is $3600. Around there is a fair price for the gun.
