Well, either I don't know what a 'schimmel' is or you cannot make one  ;)  MUCH too nice for a schimmel! You always impress me with your eye and skills...

Yeah, me too. I sometimes think about just giving up on gun building and getting on with my life after seeing Bill's work.  :'(

God bless

Thanks for the nice comments guys. It's fun to do this stuff once in awile.
Rich, a Mauger would be a great plain rifle.
The castings are from Reeves Goering. The B.P. is his #8 modified.
Laurel Mtn. Forge Lancaster maple stain. The stock is sealed with 2 coats of copal resin varnish ( marine spar varnish) and the surface varnish is a mastic-rosin linseed oil varnish that I cooked a batch of a couple years ago. It has to cure in the sun which we've had so much of lately here in PA.

gives me new motivation in my rifle building as I have always liked the simpler rifles.  Was told once that if you mess up you can cover it with brass.  Rifle like that does not show many mess ups.  Really like seeing simpler rifles built and shown.

OUTSTANDING!! First rank craftsmanship says more than all the fancy work that could have been done to it.

Bill, your rifles are so crisp.  I want one.

I agree Taylor, but I'd settle for your Verner.

Not to take away from Bills work, it is really nice---really, really nice. But his photography is good too and that helps display his fine work.
