Some may not believe, or want to believe this, but I had a TC Hawken I bought in 1974. This rifle would shoot 3/8" to 1/2" groups at 50 yrds consistantly with Remington caps. Change the cap to another brand, the group would open to 3/4" to 1". I believe changing cap brands are much like changing primers in modern ammo. Sometimes it makes a difference. The tap-a-cap, in my opinion, could not produce a consistant flame, from one to the next.
