Hunting pouch w/lining

Looking for advice from Forum on construction technigues:

I'm attempting a hunting pouch with a gusset and welting, plus fabric lining. I've not made a lined pouch before, but several with gusset/welting only.

Should I tack glue a separate piece of lining on the flap, then back, and then front, now  stitch everyingthing together? (Can't tell from photos if originals had a one piece lining or a separate piece for flap/back/front.)

Fabric for lining: some photos I've seen of originals show what looks like pillow ticking, others some perhaps felt-like material. Looking for advice on lining material for 1830-1860 era pouch for percussion rifle, made somewhere W of Pennsylvania.

Others may have a different preference, but I attach my lining fabric to the leather with spray adhesive. Some use Elmer's School glue, but I prefer the 3M spray sold at JoAnns Fabric stores. Not traditional, but functional. I cut the lining material oversize, spray, attach to leather, then trim.

If I attach the fabric prior to dyeing, will the dye come through and discolor the lining?

Do those on the Forum dye the pieces prior to stiching them together?

I have made a couple of pouches and I always dye them first and then glue the lining in. You need to use a fabric glue or something that doesn't bleed through the cloth and discolor it.  Good luck and post a picture of your work when it is finished.
