New Barker rifle shoots center.
« on: April 02, 2016, 11:40:20 PM »
Here are the first twelve shots out of the Barker rifle mentioned in the Collecting forum.  Had some pulls due to learning the new rifle and the wind from that front passing blowing the muzzle, but at least I got it test fired today.  Just picked a load at random.  25yds. offhand, 60gr. 3F, and a .490 ball with a ticking patch.  Don't know how thick.  Seems to shoot pretty well.  I'll bench it one day to get a 50yd. sight in.

Id say you should be grinning with that. Enjoy ;D
Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning

Definitely need to stretch that rifle out because 25 yards is child's play for that rifle.
