Another Early Philly Style Horn
« on: May 14, 2016, 08:28:21 PM »
Just finished this one. It is about 12 1/2" around the outside curve, The Cherry base is held by four pins that also hold the band in place, it is hollowed out about 3/4s of the way through. Oil was used as a finish, no stain. A twisted wire goes through and is bent over on the inside. The tip is threaded 5/8-11, the collar is held in place by the strap staple. Color is AF and Brown Wax.

Gorgeous.  Great form and I especially like the way the various finishes work together.

Tim,
    A very beautiful horn...love it.
