I ran across a photo of a NC man and his wife his name is Solomon Jones. He was born in 1802. I keep thinking I have heard of a gun maker named Solomon Jones but it might be my on tangled memory playing tricks
Anyone else heard of a maker by this name?
I did a search here on ALR and the only one by this name that came up was one that is listed as carrying a carbine in a post by James Rogers, since this was a 1755 list it probably wasn't this man, possibly his grandfather.
Here is a Hyde Co. NC Militia list of 1755 naming the type of longarm in use by each person. About 8 of these guys have buckaneer guns.
