I hope it is OK to ask this here...
I ended up with a very nice condition J Garner built Leman that I am planning to part with (and use the funds for a different flintlock
). I don't know if I've got it valued correctly though. It's a .54 full stock, iron trim. I believe the lock is an L&R Manton and the barrel (reportedly made by Green Mountain) and is 36" long, 15/16" full octagon with a very small amount of taper toward the muzzle (according to my calipers). The trigger is a double set, of unknown make, and only fires by setting the rear trigger first. The gun hasn't seen much use, I don't think. I have not shot it, but the previous owner said it is extremely accurate. The only markings on the gun is "J Garner" in script on the top of the barrel. What do y'all think the fair value is for this gun? I won't be able to make the Gunmaker's Fair this year (missing it by one day
) but I might swing my Dixon's on my way home from CT and see if I can trade for a fowler or smooth rifle. Does anyone know if Dixon's entertains trade-ins? I've never been to their shop. Thank you!
