« on: March 29, 2009, 07:12:52 PM »
Gent's do you thick i would have enough wood to build a 36 cal straight or swamp barrel. Length ??? in a 3/4 stock , not sure of what school maybe a Vincent style .
The wood is somewhat  curly and some birdseye mixed to it and very hard , it is 2 1/2 inch thick by 54 inch long. I am open to suggestion or do i make tomahawk handles with it.

Denis,  You forgot to mention what length barrel you will be using.  If it is a 38" you could do a full stock.  If it is a 42" the you are going to be building on long half stock.

Are there any pictures in the library ?? If so, under which school??
Never really saw any until i read it in Mr Webb's book for which i found very interesting and full of ideas for amateurs like me it's a great little book  Thank you Mr Webb.
I don't have the chance to see or touch these guns so anything i can read helps and this great site.
For barrel barrel length i do like 40 plus inches
