Here are 2 threads related to his contributions to the Study of the American Longrifle. He passed away in May, 2011. Amongst his many major contribution is the 2 volume set, "Rifles in Colonial America."

Wow.  What a loss.  I know he didn't want to re-release his books until he corrected the mistakes.  Thankfully, he re-released them anyway.
