A Different Silver Mounted Horn

Well....along the lines of trying to finish a bunch of half finished projects, I am working on another partially completed horn that has been lying around the work bench for quite some time. I did the initial shaping, carving, and coloring.....oh....I can't even remember when. Since I was working with ebony and silver on the other "silver mounted" horn, and had left over stock, I just went ahead and used the same materials on this one. It is not finished yet (obviously) but I needed to get the silver work done before I proceed with the scrimshaw and whatever else. Besides, I need the "chrome trailer hitch" look of freshly polished silver to age gracefully. The spout plug is turned ivory with a hickory shank. The ivory will get aged as well. Right now it stands out like, as Bob Roller would say, "like an egg in a coal bucket".

I like everything about that horn, too. The color is perfect with the silver embellishments.

Thanks to all for your kind comments. I added some silver rivets to both bands and am trying to decide what to engrave on the horn now.
