Kurns 1967 barrel
« on: September 08, 2016, 09:40:47 PM »
Someone is selling a Kurns barrel made in 1967, probably .45 caliber, on Gunbroker.  I know nothing about this maker, but perhaps someone here might be looking for something like this.  Just look for  Kurns 1967.

If it was easy, everyone would do it.

I was a friend of  Bill Kurns (now deceased) who made excellent barrels.  He lived in Crystal Lake, Illinois and I visited his shop many times.  He built several rifles including about a half-dozen Wender-action over-under flintlocks, all using his own barrels and locks.  He was an excellent machinist and a good marksman.  If this barrel has been taken care of over the years, it will be a tack-driver.
