Securing rear sight

So once you have it sighted in I know you're supposed to close the dovetail flaps down on the front sight base with a few taps.
But what do you do to secure the rear sight when it has those flaps that cover the dovetail?

I just depend on the proper press fit to retain both sights....Fred

If your rear sight doesn't move around, then don't worry about peening it in place.

Witness marks on both sight base and the barrel. It should be tight enough in the dovetail to NOT move.

I tap the lip of the dovetail before installing the sight. It fits pretty tight, but can still be moved with a little effort to sight in. I've never had one move as long as it fits tight to begin with.
