Sam Walkey was a part-time gunsmith and farmer in Hublersburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania ca. 1850-1870. He was the son of Christian Walkey and Elizabeth (Seiler) Walkey. Christian Walkey was born Jaunary 11, 1770 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Sam Walkey married Barbara Dunkle on January 1, 1835 in Walker Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania. Together they had eight children, seven of which lived to adulthood, of which six were sons, and one daughter.
