In a addition to the Chambers kit DVD I'm looking to purchase a Long rifle building DVD/DVD's covering all the basic skills  from inletting/forming the stock/carving and over all gun construction.A number of DVD's have my attention ...all I'm sure are great.1st is "The Gunsmith of Grenville County".I'm reading through it for the 3rd time so that set I favor.American Pioneer Videos has a few including some from Hershel House and Mark Silver.Thoughts on any of these.
Thanks,
   Scott

Scott I have Peter Alexander's DVD s . He makes a lot of thing's real clear. Which in his book seems confusing. There is a diffinate reason for all his measurements he does. Most important is the architecture of the stock layout. In the dvd he is making a Leheigh . He explains the little differences that it has. Compared to other styles of longrifles. Just remember every builder has there own way of doing things. But he clearly shows each step. To me that is a real plus!!! Mike

They are all good. I have about 80% of what is available and I have learned a lot from each one. Some times you pick up something new when you watch them a year later. I have yet to find one that covers it all. If you are going to build more than one gun, if you have a notion you want to really take this up as a hobby, think of it as an investment. I have accumulated a great library of reference material, books, DVD's, websites, all invaluable. Also, the members of the ALR are invaluable. So many have contributed to the tutorials. Great people who could have kept it to themselves, but went out of their way to share their knowledge and contribute to others.
