TRS left hand Ashmore Lock
« on: January 25, 2017, 02:49:34 PM »
Has anyone ever used  the Rifle Shoppe's Ashmore lock on one of their builds?  Just curious as I'm trying to get one ordered and assembled by them for my next build.  Lefties are limited in their selections and I've used the L&R manton on my last two so want to try something else.  Just wondering about the lock and it's quality and looks.

I don't know what your skills are but I have been building ML guns for 37 years and wouldn't take on a project like that.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

II have used a couple of there assembled locks and they looked pretty good and functioned fine and were well assembled however there delivery time was VERY slow.

I build two different left hand locks. A 1750-60s lock & a left hand Armstrong. They are on my web site.

Stan,
I'm lookin for something a little more appropriate for a southern mountain rifle or else I would've bought one of yours in a heart beat.  I'm still kicking myself for not thinking of your locks when I bought a large siler for my beck that I'm almost done with now.  Your beck is dead on!
