I have been looking to build a New England Fowler in the style of one that might have been carried by my ancestors who were largely in upper New England. Turns out, I am a long distant cousin of Joel White. One of his guns is shown in Grinslade's book "Flintlock Fowlers".
Does anybody have any more information, history, or pictures of guns that Joel White may have made? Or know of any others in museums?
I haven't quite settled on building one of his, but am working on research. I might either do one from him, or one that my direct ancestors might have plausibly carried.
thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Norm
