Rifle blank deminsions

My brother has his own tree company..and he works for asplund..my stepfather has a saw mill and I just got some really nice maple ,ash,cherry trunks from my brother..my s.father will 1/4 saw them for me but needs deminsions..I built him a rifle 8yrs ago and he wants to cut me blanks ...him and my brother want me to teach them how to build rifles..so a good partnership is forming here of like minds...steady supply of wood and a 52in mill to cut it..it will saddle 20ft sections and powered with a diesel engine..any help on deminsions would be most appreciated..

If you go 3" thick you have plenty to work with. If the planks are 14" wide you can angle the blanks on there and get strong wrist grain very easily.

And at least 60+ inches long.  Longer = better.
