so i finally got my lock polished out to a new nickle shine by hand{no i didn,t throw it in my brass tumbler} and many of you leave your locks in the white how do you protect it aginst dewy frosty damp mornings?

I don't.  Look after it like you do your bore, and let the chips fall where they may.
