Just another to add to the over the comb..
« on: April 12, 2009, 06:52:48 PM »
As I haven't posted pictures before, and the amount I deemed nessecary to post, I decided to open another topic as not to take from Kens topic about over the comb tangs. Its hard to see in the photos but it has a seemless iron wrap around the whole rifle.... This are few pictures of the rifle my father just finished up, its name is moon...

Tell your Father, that is a BEAUTIFUL job he did there.  That seamless iron wrap inlet is something to be proud of!

Beautiful work. I love the patch box. I am still though trying to understand how it works and how it is made. Is that a wood lid bordered by the iron? More pictures of it would be nice.

Do you and your father have names?  It would be nice to know who is doing this quality of work.  (that means an introduction might be nice)

Did he inlay the forward end of the comb tang on top of the rear tang of the barrel? Appears the front of the rifle buttplate was extended forward.

very nicely done. there are more details in this rifle then first appear. I am sure he spent a considerable amount of time and patience on this one.
Great Job.
