Kentucky Longbeard

It was suppose to be an easy season with lots of turkey seen before opening day.
It was a $#*! of a grind but a little bit of luck showed itself after 10 days of
hard hunting.

Have to save the best photos for potential publication.
I hauled this 60 year old carcass up and down a lot of
Kentucky hills for this bird. My two artificial knees and
screaming muscles make it hard to smile. But I am
smiling on the inside! I did manage a smiling photo
For the next turkey hunting article and a few gun close
up photos as well.

The reason I am almost hidden is because I am
Sitting behind the log...because I can not kneel with
my knees. Watching me get up out of a turkey hunting
chair is almost as painful to watch as it is for me.

I always say my best hunting skill is my stubbornness.
I am too stubborn to quit an go home.

The only thing worse would be two of us.
Like when I went to Alibama to hunt with wattlebuster.
We covered a lot of ground in some hot weather.

Yes we did an it was shore nuff HOT. Pat made every step I did though an he did it on bad knees. He was not as out of breath as this ole fat redneck was either. We hunted might near all day an though the birds were shutmouth we did call a few in along with some horse riders that really put a cramp on any turkey hunters style (they spooked/busted the birds). We will call that close but no cigar
