Lyman GPR Trigger Screw Question
« on: July 07, 2017, 02:57:46 AM »
Does anyone know what the size of the fine adjustment screw is on a Lyman Great Plains Rifle?  I am looking to get a longer adjustment screw than came from the factory.  This is the screw that is visible when the rifle is assembled.  It is located between the triggers.  I apologize if this question is redundant, but I couldn't find an answer by searching.  thanks

They and other manufactures shortened these screws for liability reasons so the triggers couldn't be set too light. I have changed a lot, but can't remember where I got them. I will try to remember.

I changed mine and an other one. I think they are metric and there is no American screws that will fit. I re threaded mine to an American thread and made one to fit.

On the few set triggers I have made lately I went to the 2mmx.4. If it goes sour then and American 2x64 tap can
be used to rethread the hole if need be.No reason for the change, only whimsy I suppose.
Jerrywh is right, retap to the closest U.S.size and fix the problem.
