I have wondered the same. From "Air Rifles" , by Eldon Wolffe..There is a suggestion that several "Kentucky" styles by noted Philla. maker J Kunz exist however only two are documented, another from a picture(s) that may be the same. A more surprising find was an aircane with a lock bearing his name, differing from english styles in shape, with an external brass ramrod in a groove, also noted is the difference in rifling in the cane as polygroove and not the accepted "kentucky type". Maybe its the patchbox that made them identify it (the rifle) in this manner
