Does anyone have an opinion regarding the earliest date of the Q finial patch box?

Hi Noel,

   Abraham Schweitzer was making Q style boxes before he died in 1831.

He was IMO the originator of that style.   The question is, how early after he moved from Lancaster to Franklin County did he come up with this design?

Buck, Take a look at the Boyer  twister in the library. I think it dates around 1800-1815 ?

Also note the Peter White rifle pictured in the ALR Museum.  A comment by "Scooter" dates the rifle c 1803.

I have a rifle that has been dated prior to 1810 that has a Q finial patch box. Just looking for opinions, thanks again.
