Are there any clubs that shoot black powder in North Georgia? Moved the past year from the North East. I would shoot at least once a month at several clubs in NY and NJ. I miss it! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Ben

You can check these links out. I know it's not completely accurate but I think a lot of these clubs are still solvent. I've been out of the loop for some years now.

This last saturday I attended a shoot at the Pickens County Sportsman's Club located at Talking Rock, Ga. I was there as a guest of Michael Markey, a ALR member, Dr TIm Boone was also there, another ALR member. The shoot was all muzzleloaders, we were shooting iron targets at 75 yards, a fine time was had.

PM me for details.

Another club just north of Atlanta you might check is Riverbend Gun Club. It's not just a blackpowder club but a real nice general shooting club. They have several real nice ranges. Back in the late 70's I attended a couple of the SE Regional NMLRA championships there.
Another club that really impressed me was  the Cherokee Bark Busters, they were/are a Blackpowder club and put on some good matches.

I am new to BP shooting and currently use the Creekside Shooting Range near Cartersville. I live in Atlanta and Creekside is the closest to me. They have a website which shows their 25, 50, and 100 yard ranges. I have met only a couple of BP shooters there but usually I am the only one shooting a muzzleloader.

Would like to find a club that has some organized BP shoots. I am aware of the ones mentioned above and there is one near Columbus and another listed on the NMLRA site.

Would like to know what you find.

Hi Charlie;

Out of Atlanta you can get to the Pickens County Sportsmans Club on 515 highway. They have a website.

Muscogee Long Rifles, just north of Columbus, shoots the second Saturday of the month.  They have a web site with directions.
