James Rogers Flint and Tool Wallet

Hi Folks,
I purchased a flint wallet from James at the CLA show. Beautiful work at a very low cost. I plan to use the bottom pocket to hold my Gunner's Mate from Dave Crisalli. As usual, James' work on this piece is very clean. Note his maker's mark "IR". It always puzzled me, until a fine lady in the Millinery Shop at Colonial Williamsburg explained that there was no "J" in the alphabet back then. They used an "I" instead. I can learn something new everyday if I keep my ears open and ask questions! Best wishes and God Bless, Marc
